Appliance acceptance depends on the exact unit, condition, weight, location, and receiving-facility rules. Include the model type, approximate dimensions, a photo, and whether the appliance is in a kitchen, utility room, garage, basement, office, or rental. Refrigerators and freezers require specific review because refrigerants and facility requirements are regulated. TopNotch does not claim to recover refrigerant or handle regulated material unless legally authorized. Recycling is pursued when a suitable lawful option is reasonably available, but a particular outcome is not guaranteed.
Who disconnects utilities?
Electrical, gas, water, drain, or other utility connections must be safely disconnected before removal when applicable.
Customers should not assume the hauling crew will disconnect an appliance. Hardwired units, gas ranges, dishwashers, water heaters, and connected refrigeration equipment may need a qualified authorized professional before pickup. Empty water, ice, food, detergent, or stored contents and allow wet equipment to drain and dry. If the unit is built in, stacked, bolted, or enclosed by cabinetry, explain that in the request. Service proceeds only after the appliance can be moved without creating an unsafe utility or property condition.
How are heavy appliances moved?
The plan considers stairs, flooring, door clearance, appliance weight, dolly access, and the complete path to the trailer.
Photograph the appliance in place and the route out of the building. Note steps, thresholds, narrow doors, soft ground, elevators, gates, and long carries. Remove doors only when specifically instructed and safe to do so; otherwise leave the unit intact for review. Protect loose flooring and clear household traffic from the route. Very large commercial, rooftop, industrial, damaged, leaking, or hazardous units may require specialized equipment or contractors beyond ordinary junk hauling.
